A thousand years of Vietnamese power, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, at the end of the road.

West Lake
The largest lake in the city. Best at the very beginning or the very end of the day.

The Old Quarter was laid out by trade: one street for silk, one for tin, one for votive paper. Most still keep to it. Start at Hoan Kiem Lake and let it take you where it wants.
Food
Eat where the stools are low
Phở for breakfast, bún chả at noon, egg coffee in the afternoon. The team at the front desk keep their own list and will send you to the right doorway rather than the famous one.
Culture
A thousand years, at the end of the road
The Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the Flag Tower and the Military History Museum are all within two hundred metres of the front door. The Temple of Literature is a short walk further.
